For my piece I made a french bulldog head, it is black and glossy and about the size of my hand. The dog seems to kind of be looking up and has really big ears. It is glazed with black and has a wrinkled texture around the nose and in between the eyes. The proportion of the head size to the ears is good and similar to the actual dog. However, the size of the sculptures is a lot smaller than the size of an actual french bulldog. I made this piece because I really like french bulldogs and I have wanted one for a while, I also have been looking for a sculpture of a french bulldog so I decided to make one. Overall I think my piece turned out pretty good, I like the proportions of it and also like the simplicity of how I glazed it. I think I was successful in making it look like a french bulldog and in adding the wrinkled texture. I also really like the texture and wrinkles I added. I learned a lot from this as it is my first sculpture. I learned about how to best create the animal base and I learned more about how to make the eyes and how important it is to add eyelids to make it look more realistic. Overall I really like my piece and how it turned out.
